CSFFA has announced that on-line voting is now open until November 18, 2015. Members are being asked to consider a bid from Hal-Con to host Canvention, and two new Aurora awards, one for best visual presentation, another for best series.
On-line voting for the Special General Meeting (SGM) for the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association is now open. There are three items that we would like you to vote on. On-line voting is open until 9 pm PST on November 18th, 2015. That is a Wednesday night. It is open to all paid CSFFA members.
If you are unable to vote on-line you can also vote in-person. The SGM will take place at 10 am in the Gardenview Room at SFContario 6, 300 Jarvis Street, in Toronto.

The first item to be voted on is the site selection for Canvention 37 in 2017. Hal-con has put in a bid. A copy of their bid is on-line for you to review from the agenda page.
We are also asking you to vote on two new awards. The first is for Visual Presentations. This covers Canadian made TV shows or movies along with plays or radio shows. We found that over the past few years more and more shows are being produced in Canada such as Orphan Black, Continuum, Bitten, Supernatural, Dark Matters, and Killjoys. We are finding more of our members are nominating them and we felt they deserved their own award.
The second new Aurora will be given out once per decade to honour novels and multi-volume works (Adult or YA) that have stood the test of time.
The award would span a full decade. We also propose that the award for 2001 through 2010 will be presented in 2017.
