Not the first time it’s happened. Every re-work of Star Trek has changed the Klingons’ appearance to a greater or lesser degree. Personally I’m more interested in their characterization and story. That being said I don’t dislike the new design, but I’m not sure it’s a match for the Klingon character (unless they’ve changed that, too).
From what I have seen in the trailers, this it a total redesign of the show, rather like the reboot of Battlestar Galactica. I don’t see any resemblance at all to TOS, or even Enterprise. I would have preferred to see a next next generation than a reboot of TOS, personally. Hollywood has totally run out of ideas.
