With a solar filter, 20 f/stop attenuation. That’s 2 to the 20th power, or 1,048,576x attenuation. At constant film speed, that’s the difference between 16 seconds at f/2 and 1/4000 second at f/8
Exception: the “diamond ring” at totality was taken without a filter on the lens.
