This month’s roundup:
– Yiddish SF&F 101 – Part 3 [*** POSTPONED TO NEXT ISSUE ***]
Due to unforeseen circumstances, this month’s installment about Yiddish SF&F has been postponed until next month. In
the meantime, we’ve put together a list of interesting links about the newly translated – from English into Yiddish –
“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and all about the translation process by the young multi-talented, multilingual
English-to-Yiddish translator Arun Visvanath.
– In addition, as ‘compensation’, our usual, interesting tidbits from various websites, contains various links about SF
pertaining to Jews, Israel, and Jewish and Israeli SF. Hope you enjoy them.

A Fanzine to share!
From our friend Leybl in Israel, CyberCozen.
Of special interest is Part II of Leybl’s article on Yiddish science fiction.
He also reminds us that the FAAN Awards will be given out on March 28th. You do not have to be a member of Corflu to vote.
And btw, WARP is eligible in the genzine category. <wink>
The FAAn Awards guide and ballot are in Nic Farey’s The Incompleat Register 2020. Voting deadline is midnight (PDT) Friday March 12 2021.
Fanzine updated!
From Leybl in Israel, an improved version of CyberCozin. He writes:
SO SORRY TO INTRUDE AGAIN …
but there were a few typos in the original January issue that I couldn’t let by,
and so I also decided to spruce up the article with some relevant images and more web-links.

Leybl has sent us CyberCozen. He has a very interesting article on science fiction in Yiddish. It’s not very long, I recommend it. In this part, he writes about the sources that influenced Yiddish writers, the Bible being one of them. Lots of fantastic stories in there that fascinated me as a child, but I never thought about Eve being possibly a sort of clone of Adam! I was more inclined to consider the real world implications of stopping the sun, ie, the Earth’s rotation.
This month’s roundup:
– New series: Yiddish SF&F 101* – Part 1
– Update and yearly wrap-up from Israel’s Space Agency “SpaceIL”

We also introduce something a new subgenre PolSciFi — Political (propaganda) Science Fiction, material where the author(s) want to send a political message. I expect that many readers are thoroughly sick of politics at this point, so PolSciFi appears at the very end of the issue, after Cedar Sanderson’s delectable Food of Famous Writers, so as not to spoil your appetite.
