MonSFFA member, Barbara Silverman, is having her book launched at the Atwater Library, May 23rd, from 2-4 PM.
MonSFFen, however, get an advance look at her book at our March 22nd meeting. She will have a few copies with her for sale, 10$.
We moved our meeting to the 22nd to avoid the St Patrick’s Day Parade, then the Parade moved to the 22nd to avoid the manif against police brutality, but the latter wanting to celebrate “La St-Patrack” also moved to the 22nd.
If you can, approach the hotel from the south, or come early (Doors open at 10 AM), enjoy our movie matinée at noon, and avoid the traffic hurdles.
“The parade begins at noon at Fort St. and ends approximately three hours later at Phillips Square. Meanwhile, anti-police demonstrators are expected to start protesting close by — at the corner of Guy St. and de Maisonneuve Blvd. — at 1:30 p.m., just as the parade floats by.”
Newly added content: I’ve now uploaded the archives for Impulse all the Trip down memory lane!

Leonard Nimoy passed away on February 27 at age 83, succumbing to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, an aliment the cause of which he firmly believed was his unfortunate smoking habit, despite his having given it up 30 years ago. He is survived by his wife, two children, numerous grandchildren, and an older brother. News of his death occasioned accolades from his Star Trek co-stars, NASA astronauts, U.S. president Barack Obama, and Trekkers the world over.

Speaking of March Hares, have you seen Night of the Lepus? Monty Python’s killer rabbit?
Greetings, MonSSFen and Friends:
The February meeting had members coming in from the cold, and others sick with a cold, and some left out in the cold because trains were not running.
So we were few in number, about a dozen or so, I think, but we had a good time.
Sylvain brought some pre-meeting entertainment in the form of romantic tv comics that also led into his presentation on Hanna-Barbera’s Toth years. As usual, the presentation was very slick, using really cool special effects. Cathy inadvertently nicked Keith’s keys, which sent everyone scrambling to find them. Danny gave an excellent presentation on wishes and how they never seem to work the way you expect them to.
The raffle prizes were really good thanks to donations from members, Sylvain in particular. Snacks included Valentine chocolates, candy hearts, and red-iced cupcakes.
Seven of us went for supper at the Cage au Sports, and indulged in more calories.
A really sweet meeting!
